Poem - Departure

You sail.

Further,
and further away,
into the invisible horizon, alone.

I gaze.

Across the distant ocean,
under evening skies,
with a gaping hole in my heart.

The constellations above, smile quietly.
Through the darkness of the night,
they will guide you home.

The gentle breezes,
will reach you in time.
They would caress you,
and tell tales of words untold.

Scribbled in sand,
and carried away by waves.
They are our promises,
one, and the same.

Pushing past my grating limits,
I await your return.
Till the next time we meet,
a glimpse of you, I yearn.

  1. Great poem, the idea came from sending your loved ones to the departure hall at the airport?
